Extreme weather closure procedure

This year 2023/2024, we will be following the school closure announcements made by SD42 for Pitt Meadows location and SD43 for Coquitlam location . You will be able to follow the decision to close schools made by 6:30am on https://www.sd42.ca/ and http://www.sd43.ca/. We do recognize and understand the unexpected inconvenience that weather-related school closures can cause. While we will strive to keep the school open whenever possible, there are circumstances in which we must make the difficult decision to close for the day due to severe weather conditions such as icy roads, heavy snowfall, power outages, and/or extremecold temperatures which could pose a risk to the safety of our students, staff, and parents.

Our primary concern is to protect the safety and well-being of our students and staff, and thus we take this responsibility seriously. Therefore, please be understanding that the school may also close at the discretion of the school, if the school, or the transportation to school is deemed unsafe for the children, or staff. We want to emphasize that these decisions will not be made lightly as we understand that these situations can be challenging for the family. The decisions will always be based on the fraser health licensing requirements and recommendations of local authorities.

We thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation in keeping our school community safe during the unforeseen weather conditions.
